Oyster Deluxe Wardrobe

Based on a classic travelling gentleman’s case reinterpreted with a twist, the Oyster Deluxe wardrobe was designed with compactness in mind.

Arranged like a puzzle with a zig-zag central split between two sides; one fixed and the other swinging out to reconfigure itself from functional wardrobe to a piece of interactive sculpture to be admired and enjoyed.

It can be fully opened by as much as 180 degrees with its two inner sides displayed side-by-side like a shelving unit or kept partially opened as an angled room divider. The design enables the wardrobe to be displayed in an open space or fit snugly into a corner.

Practical features include on its fixed side, an internal hanging clothes bar, adjustable storage shelves, a low level lift-up panel that conceals a hidden storage space. The moveable side with castor wheel features adjustable shelves for clothes, books or other objects and an external pull handle with a long slot that can be used to drape clothes. A plexiglass top corner allows light through and breaks down the solid surfaces.

Materials include high quality birch plywood, solid sapele wood, plastic laminate coloured smooth and metallic textured panels, adjustable feet to the fixed side and a large feature castor wheel with brake to the opening side.

Wood finishes are in natural, eco friendly wax/oils.
